Julia Li Olen
As managing director of Monterey Investment Management LLC, Julia Li Olen draws on diverse experience in investment and regulatory management, fund leadership, and institutional risk management. She stands out as a former senior staff member with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, or FDIC, where she oversaw the management of $6 billion in failed bank assets. Successful in establishing the FDIC's first on-site monitoring team at General Electric, Julia Li Olen worked closely with officials in other federal agencies to craft effective supervisory strategies and policies.
Ms. Olen came to this role with previous leadership experience at General Electric’s risk management team for the company's real estate lending business. In this capacity, she underwrote more than $3 billion in financing and evaluated complex data sets to formulate informed investment recommendations. She also upheld responsibility for all due diligent functions and performed asset management functions, including asset value maximization and loan workout strategy development.
Julia Li Olen joined GE with more than a decade of experience in financial analytics, having most recently served as a senior analyst with Cushman & Wakefield of Colorado. The recipient of a certified diploma in accounting and finance from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in London, she has also completed the executive education program in strategic negotiations at Harvard University.
